Fancy Folds #3

This is a swing card, and it stands up very nice.

One side is purple with white polka-dots.

Another flower using my new punch, this time I only peeled back one side so the flower would lay (almost) flat on the card.

And the back is green with purple, yellow and pink.

Fancy folds #2

In Thursday Card Class the ladies made this card, but they all created a card for fall, using other papers.

You untie the ribbon and open up the card to find a secret message inside.

This one says “Hello”

fancy folds

This is called a step card.

I bought a new punch this week, they just came out about 2 weeks ago.  It is a flower punch, but it cuts a strip that you roll up and then peel back and make a flower.   The pink flower on the left is made with my new punch.

Creative Sketches CS 45 H

Holiday!  Halloween!!

I had fun making the haunted house and the spider, the designer paper looks like shingles, but now that I look closer I see some of the roof is up-side-down.  Oh Well…it is a haunted house!  In the windows are plastic pieces to make it look like glass, and the door is a piece I heat embossed a long time ago and saved for someday, I guess today was the day. I don’t have a happy Halloween stamp so I stamped Happy Everything.

I hope you like it!

Thursday’s Card Class

cards021

The flower is made from the scalloped oval punch (6 pieces), then sprayed with Fabreze until moist, then crimple them and dry with heat gun.  Push a brad through all pieces at center and fluff till you like it.  The card smells really good, image your friends surprise when she open up a card and finds a beautiful flower that smells good too.

Creative Sketches Technique CS 44-T

Stamp Kissing is this month’s technique.

First find two stamps the fit well together, one with just lines and one that is almost flat.  Ink up the flat one with the lighter color ink and ink the other stamp with a darker color.  Then kiss them together and stamp your paper with the flat stamp only.

The other way to do this is to stamp on the paper with the lighter color (flat stamp) then stamp on top of it with the other stamp.  But that is not Kissing!! Only two step stamping!!

CS 43-T Debbie_Gauthier

All ten of the roses are kissed together.  I like the way they look.

This was the sketch for today’s cards.

Quick cards using stickers #2

Sometimes it is fun to make a card with one large object in the center as a focal point, especially if it is a butterfly!  And I love the glitzy ribbon.

Creative Sketches 42- Color

Basic Black, Basic Gray and Poppy Red were the colors for this challenge, and no sketch.

CS 42C Debbie_Gauthier

I stamped basic black onto basic gray paper, then I stamped it on black and cut out the flowers and leaves.  they are attached with pop dots.  The black on gray looks like vellum, but it is not.

I am not sure I like the end look, but I like a couple of things I did on the card.  The border is really 4 different strips, 2 black, 1 red  and a thin black.I like the way it turned out.

The other thing I did different was making the oval punch larger than the punch itself. (because the stamp saying I wanted was longer than my oval punch)  I punched two ovals in red and fit them together to the size I wanted then made one cut through the center.  After putting the two halves together I taped them in the back.  I also cut two in black and attached one a little lower and on a little higher to highlight.

Quick cards using stickers #1

At Jacksonville Beach, everyone is riding scooters, young and old, male and female.  They look like  a lot of fun, but I have not tried it!!

I was playing around with two sheets of my favorite paper and wanted to make a few cards quick and use some of my stickers.

Hope you like my scooter – the ribbon looks like the road to me and the flowers take me back to the 60’s.

Creative Sketches 42-S

Designer Series Papers, border punch and oval punch, with a pretty rose stamp.  Colored the stamp with markers, then huff and puff and set your stamp down. Edges are pinked with the marker after being punched out.

Hope you like it…

Post Card made into card

This is an old postcard (copy) that I doctored up and made into a card.

The hat, flowers, ribbon and pearl on a wire were added over her original hat.

A yellow bling was added on her necklace.

The brown on her dress is flocking powder, I had never used it before.

First you apply glue where you want the flocking powder then sprinkle with the powder (like glitter) and then shake off on to a paper and return to the bottle of flocking.  It feels like fuzzy paper or maybe like velvet paper.  Great stuff I will have to buy more colors, I bought this one thinking I would use it as the center of flowers.
